Training - flange joints

Training according to EN 1591-4

We provide training in accordance with EN 1591-4 Qualification of professional competence of personnel for the installation of screw connections in pressure equipment in critical applications.

This standard applies to bolted joint mechanics , supervisors and responsible technicians who dismantle, assemble and tighten bolted joints in pressure equipment in critical applications. The reason for the introduction of EN 1591-4 is the fact, resulting from long-term research, that the human factor is up to 50 % cause failure of flange joints.

Our training center is equipped with audio technology , modern technologiesfor theoretical and practical teaching. For example, we have:

• Special strain gauge flanges for illustrative examples of force transmission.
• Flanges with all types of contact surfaces on which pressure tests can be performed .
• Prestressed piping for flange misalignment simulation and expansion training .

The training center is located on the premises of our production plant in Hodonín . We will prepare a price offer for you based on the required number of people participating in the training.

• Aim, content, result of training

  The aim of the training

  The aim is to provide information on the new sealing materials that have replaced asbestos, their significant impact on established assembly procedures and the overall impact on the joint as such. The aim is also to raise the work of the flange joint fitter to the level of expert welders .

  Training content

  The basic qualification of the standard has 27 topics , which can be divided into 4 areas :

  1. Seal material, its properties, tightness classes, seal deformation and more.
  2. Influence of lubrication, force transmission and connecting material.
  3. Tightening procedures, records and protocols.
  4. Tightening tools, tightening methods, work safety and leak detection.

  The result of the training

  The result of the training for the fitter is, among other things, a broader knowledge of the mutual influences acting on the flange joint and the ability to verify the correctness of the tightening . Graduates will also receive the latest information on sealing materials, as well as detailed information on the effect of lubrication on the transmission of forces during tightening.

• Certificate of competency

  Certificate of competency

  The certificate is issued to all employees after successfully passing the practical and theoretical exam .

  It is issued by a certified body for the certification of persons (testing laboratory) accredited by the Czech Institute for Accreditation (ČIA) ops according to ČSN EN ISO / IEC 1724: 2013. This means that the testing laboratory performing the tests of fitters has an approved certification scheme from ČIA ops (see the list of certification schemes at www.cai.cz). The certification scheme is prepared on the basis of the EN 1591-4 standard, according to which the fitters are tested.

  • We are a certified workplace.
  • The training center is equipped in accordance with the requirements of certified training EN 1591-4.

  Validity

  5 years - if two conditions are met , otherwise the certificate must be withdrawn:

  1. He did not have an interruption in the work of the mechanic of screw connections for more than 6 months.
  2. There are no reasons to question his abilities and skills of the mechanic of screw connections.

  Extension

  For another 5 years after passing the theoretical and practical examination .

  • If he fails the examination, he must complete the entire training again, including the final tests.

Naturally, this training enriched me with a lot of new knowledge and information about modern methods in the field of sealing and especially lubricating materials, as well as ways to apply them in practice.   We provide for the company Slovnaft as examination of (external) assembly workers who are to take part in the shutdown in 2019.
